Being invited to serve as a jury member for the Nikon Film and Photo Contest 2024-2025, one of the most prestigious photography competitions globally, is not only an immense honor but also a unique opportunity to pause and celebrate the art of visual storytelling.
As a professional in the field, I recognize the value of originality, the ability to capture genuine emotions, and the mastery of composition and light to convey a message or tell a story. I firmly believe that the diversity of styles and perspectives showcased in this edition of the Nikon Film and Photo Contest will make this experience truly inspiring and enriching for both participants and the jury.
With my experience and deep passion for photography, I am fully committed to contributing to a fair and thoughtful evaluation process that honors the creativity and talent behind each submitted work.

Biography

Maximiliano Blanco (b. 1984, Buenos Aires, Argentina), currently based in Colombia, is an action photographer recognized for his work with Red Bull and his independent collaborations in cycling sports with the prestigious agency Getty Images. He is also a member of the select Nikon Creators team in Latin America.
His journey in the world of photography began in 2004 when he worked as a printer and photo lab manager. During this time, he dedicated himself to photojournalism and street photography, participating in significant projects such as Argentina Duerme (2006-2010), Tragedia de Cromagnon (La Nación, 2006), El Día del Granizo (Clarín, 2006), and documenting the Carcel de Caseros in 2007, Ykua Bolaños in 2013, among others.
Since 2010, Maximiliano has focused his career on action photography, transforming his passion into an art that captures the essence of movement and emotion. He has successfully captured unique moments in cycling and extreme sports across various countries.
In addition to his work as a photographer, since 2021 he has been dedicated to training new talents in the field of photography by delivering inspirational and educational talks throughout Latin America.
