This is a series of photographs of Ukrainian women who decided to tell about the loss of their unborn babies or soon dead newborns: they live through the so-called perinatal loss. In Ukraine， this topic is tabooed in society and women have to cope with the loss of a loved one who hasn't even a chance to live for a few months. Next to portraits of women there are pictures of the things they have remained after the death of the babies.

It is a great honor for me to be among the photographers-nominees Nikon Photo Contest. I am very proud that my photographer's skills were enough to tell this important story to the world. This pictures are about Ukrainian women who lost unborn or premature babies. Their loss was ignored by society, relatives and friends, but they found the strength to tell me about this life testing. I am grateful to the jury who made possible to be seen my photo story by the big audience.
