Nikon Photo Contest 2016 - 2017 Judge

Marcus Bell

Wedding Photographer

Entering awards was a key part of my development as a photographer. Through awards such as the Nikon Photo Contest, I got to push my own boundaries, test my skills, and learn from others. The process offers the photographer to grow in many different ways. Personally, I found my own photographic voice. I would encourage any individual who wants to develop their photographic skills technically, and most importantly creatively, to enter the Nikon Photo Contest. Through photography you get to speak to the world. Say something at the Nikon Photo Contest. After all, images are truly a universal language.

Marcus Bell is the creative Director and principal photographer of Australian photography studio, Studio Impressions. His highly emotive, documentary style, and his quiet, unassuming approach have made Marcus one of the most sought after wedding photographers in the world. A self-confessed romantic, Marcus has been a photographer for 20 years, and is one of Australia’s most experienced and highly awarded photographers. The Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) has recognized his professional talent with the highest accreditation of Grand Master of Photography. He is a Fellow of the Master Photographers Association and has his Masters Designation with WPPI.

He has been named Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year 3 times, Queensland Professional Photographer of the Year twice, Queensland Wedding Photographer of the Year 4 times and has won numerous international awards for his work, including the highly coveted Grand Award for Photojournalism at the Wedding and Portrait Photographer’s International (WPPI) awards in the USA and the International Wedding Print of the Year at the Prix de la Photographie in Paris. Yet, it is Marcus’ quiet nature and his passion for people and their relationships, for families and touching moments that makes him such a popular photographer with couples looking for something truly special.
