This photograph was the first ever photograph I took with my Nikon D90, after ditching another brand of camera gear and going with Nikon. I managed to persuade my girlfriend to come out into the garden so i could get to grips with my newly purchased camera. Getting to grips with the Nikon user interface and button positions felt like second nature.
Further comments
It was mid summer and the middle of the afternoon so I didn't have the best lighting conditions available. I laid a cream coloured sheet out on the gass to act as a sun bounce and was shooting into the sun to get some rim or hair light. As soon as I saw the glow reflecting back into my models face, the look I wanted was in my mind. Persuading her to mess up her hair to bring it to life was the biggest challenge!
